Sustainability and responsible stewardship of our environment is very important to us at Rivers Edge Catering. Our respectful relationship with the environment begins with the farmers who produce the ingredients to our place of business.
In order to ensure quality in our products, we seek to maintain personal relationships with farmers across the region. Together, we ensure that we're offering the best products available, while always using the safest and environment-friendly practices.
For example, we purchase all our egg products from Stieber Farms. They are located in Yelm Washington. Jon and Dianna Stieber own and operate the family business with their children. Their employees package the eggs with the greatest of care and loyalty so that their customers receive only the best, freshest products. They are proud to produce organic eggs, beef, and feed; all certified 100 percent organic by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. They also own and operate their own certified organic feed mill to maintain the integrity of their organic egg program.
Rivers Edge purchases all of our grains and flours from Bob’s Red Mill. They manufacture their products using time-honored techniques, like grinding whole grains at cool temperatures with a traditional stone mill. The beautiful stone grinding mills are much like the ones used during early Roman times. And to this day, their quartz millstones remain the best way to produce the finest products available. Unlike high-speed steel rollers, their stone mills ensure the most nutritious parts of the whole grain remain, so they can pack all-natural goodness right into your bag. They are proud to offer one of the largest lines of organic, whole grain foods in the country and are USDA certified.
Our building has the highest rating and is Platinum LEED Certified. Comprehensive and flexible, LEED is a green building tool that addresses the entire building lifecycle recognizing best-in-class building strategies. At its core, LEED is a program that provides third-party verification of green buildings.
If sustainability is an important factor in deciding which caterer to use, we pride ourselves on it. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding our practices and how we can translate this into your successful catered event.
